And apparently it makes it much easier to make the artwork more accurate. At least I think so, because now at least the face didn't turn out completely twisted as it usually does when I try to draw with references like this. 
This was so much fun to draw, and for once the hair turned out decent. Realistic/Semi-realistic hair has always been my Achilles heel.
